On the 3rd of April 2013, we launched an innovative academic excellence programme ‘Study Buddies’ for the students up to seventh standard. The programme envisages result oriented, stress free academic support blended with life skills to the generation next. In addition, it will provide a platform to the students to grow academically as well as personally with professional guidance and support of trained social workers.
The programme is conceived by using ‘the guidelines for life skill training’ announced by World Health Organisation in 1993 as the guiding principle for dealing with Children and Adolescents.
What makes ‘Study Buddies’ different?
The programme is initiated by the Governing Board of IDSS intended to support the students from poor financial background. The programme envisages providing support to meet the educational needs of poor children. Under the scheme, books and study materials, payment of tuition fees and uniform allowance will be provided. In addition to that, through various personal development programmes and family get together we aim the holistic development of the student. The programme is tailored to fit the educational needs of high school students.
People who envision social transformation through educating children have come forward to join hands with the venture. Some of the young Professionals and Businessmen are approached by the organization to take part in this programme.
